It is the third in size of the islands of the Ionian Sea the native land of Dionisios Solomos, poet and writer of the Greek National Anthem but also of St. Dennis, the Patron Saint. It is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches like the “Shipwreck“, favored, not only by thousands of tourists from all around the world but also by the endangered turtles Caretta Caretta that choose to lay their eggs here.
